Tony Ferguson Backs Paddy Pimblett in UFC 324 Interim Title Clash

Ferguson Knows the Main Event Better Than Anyone
Tony Ferguson offers one of the sharpest views on the UFC 324 interim lightweight title fight because he faced both contenders. He lost to Justin Gaethje by TKO in the fifth round at the start of the pandemic. Three years later, he went three rounds with Paddy Pimblett near the end of his career. Now he will watch his former rivals battle for the same belt he once held. He believes the interim label will matter if the fight gets gritty and comes down to desire.

Why Ferguson Sees an Edge for Pimblett
Ferguson trusts his insight because he shared long, punishing minutes in the cage with both fighters. He went five rounds with Gaethje and met Pimblett during his late career phase. Despite that difference, he backs the rising Brit. He argues that this interim belt carries more weight for Pimblett than for Gaethje. The veteran already owned that version of the title. Ferguson told Ariel Helwani on his show that Gaethje does not crave another interim strap. Pimblett, however, enters his first title chance with hunger and freshness.

Ferguson Explains His Prediction
Ferguson says both men remain beatable, yet he values passion above all. He notes that Gaethje chased a true title shot for years, only to see it slip away. He believes Pimblett enters a new stage with excitement and energy. Ferguson says he would bet on the young fighter who seeks his first big opportunity rather than the older contender who fought for gold before. He predicts a win for Pimblett and wishes both men luck, hoping they produce a wild fight.
