Positive Test for Anabolic Metabolite
Iasmin Lucindo, competing in the UFC’s strawweight division, has been provisionally suspended following a drug test in September that revealed metabolites consistent with mesterolone, an anabolic steroid. She has been removed from her scheduled fight on December 13.
Team Denies Doping, Points to Contaminated Supplements
Her management strongly rejects any intentional use of performance-enhancing drugs. They claim Lucindo tested negative both before and after the flagged test, and argue that the only plausible explanation is contamination from commercial supplements. According to her team, two dietary supplements have already been submitted to an independent lab for analysis.
Anti-Doping Investigation Underway
Lucindo’s camp says it is fully cooperating with anti-doping authorities, the UFC, and the relevant athletic commission as the investigation continues. While a B-sample may still be analyzed and a hearing is expected, no final sanction has been announced yet.
