CM Punk’s UFC career struggled from the start.
After leaving WWE in 2014, he transitioned to MMA and signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
He trained under Duke Roufus and fought twice in the Octagon.

Mickey Gall submitted Punk in his debut.
Mike Jackson later outpointed him over three rounds.

Ten years ago, Gall and Jackson faced each other first.
The bout took place at UFC Fight Night 82 in Las Vegas.
Gall dropped Jackson early and secured a rear-naked choke in 45 seconds.

That finish was shorter than either of Punk’s fights.
Gall submitted Punk in the first round, but much later.
Jackson went the distance with Punk in a bout later ruled a no contest.

Punk has since said his biggest mistake was starting MMA too late.
He admitted the sport favors younger fighters despite his serious training.
