The Russian Boxing Federation confirmed that world champion Irina Sinetskaya died on Sunday at age 46. Sinetskaya won three world titles, five European titles, and eleven Russian championships. She also earned silver and bronze medals at other World Championships and claimed silver at the Continental Championship. The Federation described her as the most decorated athlete in women’s boxing and offered condolences to her family and friends.

Trailblazer in Women’s Boxing

Sinetskaya earned the Honoured Master of Sports title for her outstanding achievements. She competed in the first Women’s European Cup in 1999, helping pioneer female boxing. She primarily fought as a light welterweight but later advanced to light heavyweight and faced heavyweight opponents.

Legacy and Final Triumphs

Her last major victory came at the 2009 European Women’s Boxing Championship as a middleweight. Sinetskaya’s coach, Viktor Veselov, reported that she died from a ruptured blood clot. The boxing community remembers her skill, dedication, and trailblazing role in women’s boxing.
