Umar Nurmagomedov Overlooked After Dominant UFC 324 Win as Broadcast Moves On

Umar Nurmagomedov was left without a moment to speak after a commanding victory at UFC 324, as the broadcast abruptly shifted focus moments after his hand was raised.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin delivered a clear-cut decision win over former champion Deiveson Figueiredo in Las Vegas, controlling every round and strengthening his case for a future title eliminator against Petr Yan. Despite the performance, Nurmagomedov was not given a post-fight interview and remained in the Octagon while the broadcast moved on.

Instead, commentary pivoted to an announcement that Dominick Cruz will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2026. Cruz, working cageside as an analyst, appeared visibly surprised, while Nurmagomedov and his team were awkwardly left standing in the cage without acknowledgment.

Figueiredo entered the bout under scrutiny after missing weight by 2.5 pounds. His manager, Alex Davis, later cited severe travel disruptions, lack of sleep, and physical exhaustion as factors behind the miss, apologising publicly for the situation.

Despite the win, Nurmagomedov’s muted post-fight moment drew criticism from fans who felt the unbeaten contender deserved the spotlight after such a dominant showing.
