Rampage Jackson Says Only One Promoter Could Challenge the UFC’s Dominance

Veteran Fighter Praises Alternative MMA Vision
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson believes there’s just one promoter capable of standing toe-to-toe with the UFC. Speaking recently, Jackson pointed to Bellator’s approach to fighter treatment and promotion as the model that could realistically rival Dana White’s empire. He credited Bellator’s leadership for giving athletes more say in sponsorships and marketing — something he says the UFC often limits.

Calls for Fighter-Friendly Competition
Jackson, who fought for both the UFC and Bellator during his career, said the UFC’s success stems from strong branding but criticized what he views as one-sided business practices. He praised Bellator’s former management for listening to fighters and supporting their careers beyond the cage. “If any promoter’s going to give the UFC a run for their money, it’s someone who puts fighters first,” Jackson said.

A Challenge to the Industry Status Quo
The outspoken veteran’s comments reignite a long-running debate about fighter pay and freedom in mixed martial arts. While the UFC remains the sport’s global leader, Jackson argues that a more transparent, athlete-driven promotion could reshape the competitive landscape. For now, his remarks serve as both praise for Bellator’s philosophy and a challenge to other organizations to raise their standards.
