With only days remaining before the official weigh-in, Paddy Pimblett has shared a positive update. The English lightweight says his weight cut is progressing smoothly. UFC returns this Saturday after a short winter break. UFC 324 marks the promotion’s first event of the year. The card is headlined by an interim lightweight title fight. Justin Gaethje meets Paddy Pimblett in the main event.

The matchup triggered immediate debate among fans. Many questioned the UFC’s decision. Critics argued the fight lacked sporting merit. Despite the noise, Pimblett once again commands attention. His fight weeks rarely pass quietly.

Weight Questions Follow Pimblett Into Another Fight Week

Pimblett’s weight remains a dominant storyline before every bout. Outside training camps, he allows his weight to climb significantly. He often adds more than 50 pounds. This habit continues to worry fans and analysts. The concern intensifies as weigh-in day approaches.

History supports Pimblett’s confidence. He has never missed weight in his professional career. He began fighting as a bantamweight. He later moved up to featherweight. He now competes permanently at lightweight. His record reflects discipline when it matters.

Pimblett Feels Ahead of Schedule Before Weigh-In

On Tuesday evening, Pimblett addressed his current condition publicly. He compared the cut to previous camps. His message sounded relaxed and assured. He believes he is ahead of schedule.

“I still have weight to lose, but less than before the Chandler fight,” Pimblett said. “I’m flying right now.” He stressed how comfortable he feels. The comments aimed to calm lingering doubts. Pimblett appears confident in his process.

Early Fight Date Leaves a Sour Taste

Despite the positive update, Pimblett voiced frustration with the timing. He criticized fighting so early in the year. He explained how camp affected his personal life. The sacrifices extended beyond the gym.

“I’ve never fought this early before,” Pimblett said. He ruled out January or February fights going forward. He said the schedule ruined Christmas and his birthday. He wants the promotion to remember that stance.

Title Future Uncertain After Topuria Offer Declined

The UFC expects the main event winner to secure a title shot. Ilia Topuria currently holds the undisputed lightweight title. The champion recently confirmed plans for a break in 2026. He targets a return between April and June.

Topuria proposed a unification bout to Pimblett. Pimblett declined the idea. He said he is prepared to wait. He reminded fans that Topuria once made him wait. The decision keeps the title picture unresolved. Pimblett remains patient and confident.
