Michael Bisping says Jake Paul would earn respect if he fought Francis Ngannou

Jake Paul may face a new opponent after reports of complications with his planned fight against Gervonta Davis, and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou has surprisingly emerged as an option.

UFC legend Michael Bisping said that although the matchup would be a “car crash” given Ngannou’s size and power, it could still be a win-win for Paul. “Even if he lost, people would say, ‘Look at the guts on him,’” Bisping said, adding that the bout would massively raise Paul’s credibility if he avoided serious injury.

For Ngannou, who has already fought Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Bisping said the fight would complete “the three biggest boxing paydays of this generation.”

However, Bisping doubts the fight will happen, calling it too risky for Paul. Instead, he believes a rematch with Nate Diaz—whom Paul defeated in 2023—is the more realistic next step.
