The Middle East Professional Boxing (MEPB) held a two-day Professional Cutman Certification Course on October 4-5.
The event took place at the Donatello Hotel in Dubai to boost regional boxing standards.
MEPB organised the course to improve safety, quality, and professionalism in Middle Eastern boxing.
Experts Lead Intensive Training
Renowned cutman Denis Kolesnik (Cutman 227) led the hands-on training sessions.
Neil Scott from NAS Medical/Ringside Medics flew from the UK to provide advanced medical guidance.
Scott serves as MEPB medical advisor and Chief Medical Officer for major events like Riyadh Season Boxing.
The curriculum included cornerman protocols, professional hand wrapping, and advanced management of facial lacerations and swelling.
Participants Gain Certification and Skills
Thirty participants attended the course, many traveling specifically to earn professional certification.
MEPB President Jose Mohan praised the participants’ dedication and the event’s success.
He said MEPB will continue hosting workshops on refereeing, judging, medical practices, and other boxing skills.
The organisation plans to announce its next professional workshops soon to raise regional boxing standards further.
