Manny Pacquiao addresses Floyd Mayweather rematch rumors amid Netflix reports

Manny Pacquiao has responded to growing speculation about a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather, which could reportedly be staged under Netflix’s boxing banner next year.

After returning to the ring earlier this year and fighting Mario Barrios to a draw, Pacquiao was expected to pursue another world title run at welterweight. But plans have shifted amid reports that Netflix is exploring a blockbuster second meeting between the two legends — nearly 11 years after their first bout in 2015.

When asked about the possible rematch, Pacquiao kept his response brief but open-ended.

“I’ve been motivated since after the [first] fight,” he told The Sun. “After the operation, I’m okay, and I can fight again. Right now, God is good — He’s giving me strength to continue my career. It depends … I’m a fighter, I’m not ducking anybody.”

The Filipino icon, now vice president of the International Boxing Association (IBA), could potentially compete for the body’s first welterweight title, which officials say may be awarded in a Mayweather–Pacquiao rematch.

While no official talks have been confirmed, the matchup would mark one of boxing’s biggest comebacks — and possibly Netflix’s most ambitious move yet in live sports.
