Khabib Nurmagomedov ridicules Deiveson Figueiredo after Umar’s effortless UFC 324 display

Umar Nurmagomedov’s camp prepared for a far tougher challenge on Saturday night. The Dagestani contender dominated UFC 324 with ease and showed little physical strain. He strengthened his push toward another bantamweight title opportunity with a composed victory.

Nurmagomedov continued his recovery after losing to Merab Dvalishvili in January 2025. He already halted Mario Bautista’s momentum in Abu Dhabi last October. UFC 324 delivered another statement win against a former champion.

Figueiredo struggles to match Nurmagomedov’s control

On January 24, Deiveson Figueiredo failed to trouble the No. 2-ranked contender. The Brazilian never imposed himself inside the Octagon. Nurmagomedov dictated range, timing, and tempo throughout the fight.

Figueiredo attempted to break through with sporadic offense. Nurmagomedov shut down every opening with sharp movement and discipline. The contest quickly became one-sided and stayed that way.

Khabib Nurmagomedov jokes about sparring being harder

Khabib Nurmagomedov reacted immediately after the dominant win. He spoke while walking out of the arena with his cousin. His comments emphasized how comfortable the fight appeared.

Khabib said Umar looked like he finished a casual training session. He added that sparring rounds demanded more effort. The remarks reflected complete confidence in Umar’s performance.

Umar shared similar thoughts during his post-fight press conference. He questioned why Figueiredo refused to engage more. He said he expected higher intensity and greater risk-taking.

Missed weight adds to Figueiredo’s disappointing night

Figueiredo arrived at UFC 324 after missing weight earlier in the week. He followed that setback with an uninspired showing on fight night. The sequence damaged his standing in the bantamweight division.

The former two-time flyweight champion moved up in 2023 chasing another belt. He still has not earned a title shot at 135 pounds. Recent results have pushed that goal further away.

Calm confidence shapes Umar Nurmagomedov’s next move

Khabib later praised Umar in a social media message. He highlighted his activity and consistency inside the Octagon. Umar competed twice in three months and stayed dominant.

Umar does not expect an immediate title shot after this victory. That situation does not concern his team. Khabib said they will accept any matchup offered.

He said they remain ready for a return in May or June. He stressed patience and long-term focus. The message reinforced belief rather than pressure.
