Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s long-running rivalry has flared up again—this time with Khabib Nurmagomedov being dragged into the drama.
The former UFC light heavyweight champions, whose feud is one of the most heated in MMA history, continue to trade jabs online despite Cormier being retired and Jones nearing the end of his own career. Last week, Jones claimed he was offered a trilogy fight with Cormier—though in a different sport.
The latest spark came after Jones posted photos and videos from a trip to Chechnya, where he met leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Cormier publicly questioned why Jones wasn’t spending Thanksgiving with his family, prompting another round of back-and-forth.
In response, Jones brought up Cormier’s close friend and longtime teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov, hinting at double standards in how Cormier views fighters’ decisions and associations.
Cormier, now a UFC commentator, may eventually have to set aside the feud if he is assigned to call what could be Jones’s final fight—adding another layer of tension to one of MMA’s most enduring rivalries.
