Just months after his retirement fight, former double UFC champion Henry Cejudo is stepping back into combat sports.
On December 6, Cejudo closed his UFC career with a match against Payton Talbott at UFC 323. Soon after, he revealed in an exclusive interview that he plans to pursue a career as a children’s author following his fighting days.
Despite his retirement plans, the 38-year-old will return to competition on February 28.
Cejudo to headline RAF06 alongside fellow UFC legend
Cejudo will headline RAF06 at the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona, marking a return to his wrestling roots. Organizers will announce his opponent in the coming weeks.
Joining Cejudo at the top of the card is UFC veteran Clay Guida, who left the UFC roster in January after three consecutive losses. Guida’s opponent will also be revealed soon. ‘The Carpenter’ previously competed under the RAF banner, losing to Cayden Henschel at RAF03.
Real American Freestyle has gained attention over the past months for staging high-profile events featuring top names from combat sports.
RAF05 promises another stacked fight card
The promotion will arrive in Sunrise, Florida, on January 10 for RAF05, headlined by Colby Covington versus Luke Rockhold.
The card also features UFC’s top-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan, who will face former PFL champion Lance Palmer. Tsarukyan continues to fight outside the UFC after missing out on the latest 155-pound title opportunity.
