Gable Steveson believes he could already compete with the UFC’s biggest names despite only two MMA fights.
The 2020 Olympic gold medallist is 2-0 and continues his transition after a decorated wrestling career and a spell in WWE.
Steveson faces his third bout in the Mexico Fight League while targeting a UFC contract in 2026.
Even at this early stage, he says he can match champions and contenders.
He named Tom Aspinall, Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira as opponents he could “most definitely” compete with.
He also pointed to his youth as a long-term advantage as older heavyweights slow down.
Steveson’s potential has impressed Joe Rogan and mentor Jon Jones.
His elite wrestling base already sets him apart in a division often criticised for its limited depth.
He has also begun to develop his striking, making him a notable prospect at heavyweight.
If his rapid progress continues, he could quickly close the gap on the UFC’s top contenders.
