Errol Spence Jr. Set for High-Stakes Comeback Against Tim Tszyu

Spence Steps Back Into the Spotlight

Errol Spence Jr., known throughout boxing as “The Truth,” is preparing to return to the ring after nearly three years away. Sources say the former champion will face Tim Tszyu this summer in a 154-pound bout that immediately ranks among the year’s biggest fights. Now 35, Spence has not competed since his stoppage loss to Terence Crawford in July 2023, but after months of teasing a comeback online, he’s finally ready to glove up again.

New Team, New Chapter

This fight also marks a fresh start for Spence outside the ring. He will train in Philadelphia under respected coach Stephen “Breadman” Edwards following his split with longtime trainer Derrick James in 2024. The change comes as Spence looks to prove he still belongs at the top level after a lengthy layoff that has raised questions about sharpness and durability.

Everything on the Line for Both Fighters

Tim Tszyu enters the bout at a crossroads of his own. Once feared across the super welterweight division, Tszyu claimed the WBO title with a clear win over Brian Mendoza, but three losses in his last five fights — including two knockouts — have stalled his momentum. Still, his recent activity may see him installed as the early favorite, especially with a tune-up fight expected beforehand. For Spence, this could be a final stand if things go badly; for Tszyu, a win over such a marquee name could reignite his path back to a world title.
