MMA legend Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller shared his thoughts on the potential superfight between Alex Pereira and Jon Jones.
Ever since his iconic victory at UFC 320, Alex Pereira has openly expressed interest in facing Jon Jones. Fans imagine this clash headlining a UFC White House card. The fight could become the main attraction of a major event.
Both fighters clearly respect each other, but UFC president Dana White has hesitated to commit. White’s reluctance stems largely from how he handled the Tom Aspinall situation.
Miller Supports the Fight
In a recent interview, Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller spoke about what he believes should happen.
“100% should happen. 100% should happen,” Miller said. He sees the fight as much closer than most anticipate.
“Everyone likes to assume Jon will win. But I think the fight could be competitive. Jon is a more complete martial artist, and he’s bigger at this stage in his career,” he explained.
Romantic Underdog Story
Miller admitted he leans toward Pereira, known as Poatan.
“Do I want Poatan to win? Yeah. A little bit. He has a romantic story. Working at a tire shop, overcoming struggles, and becoming a kickboxing champion—that resonates with me,” Miller said.
Miller compared Pereira’s journey to his own early struggles. He acknowledged that the story might include some embellishments but said it still inspires admiration.
