Alex Pereira has offered his perspective on the upcoming heavyweight title clash between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi.
Aspinall enters as the undisputed champion after a string of devastating first-round knockouts over Curtis Blaydes, Sergei Pavlovich, and Marcin Tybura. Many expect another quick finish, but Pereira predicts Gane’s elusive movement could change the pace.
“Tom is a complete fighter, but he’s fought more aggressive guys,” Pereira said. “Gane moves a lot, he’s cautious, and that might frustrate Tom. I think it could be a different fight, one that goes longer.”
Aspinall, however, is preparing for every possibility. Speaking to Bloody Elbow, the champion noted that Gane has worked to patch holes in his wrestling and grappling.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to take me down,” Aspinall said. “It’s MMA – I’m ready for everything. Grappling, striking, whatever happens, I’ll take the path of least resistance on the night.”
The heavyweight title bout headlines UFC 321 on October 25, with both fighters eager to prove themselves on one of the year’s biggest stages.
