Ronda Rousey “Complains Too Much,” Says Norma Dumont

Ronda Rousey has stirred the MMA world again. Her sharp remarks about fighters and ongoing comeback rumors have reignited attention. A rising UFC bantamweight contender recently gave her thoughts on both issues during an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show.

Norma Dumont questions Rousey’s return

Norma Dumont, one of the UFC’s top bantamweights, shared her honest opinion when asked if Rousey might ever return to mixed martial arts. “I don’t think that conditions are right for her to come back,” Dumont said. “The girls today are much stronger and much bigger.”

Dumont didn’t see any motivation for Rousey to return. “I don’t see why she’d come and do that,” she added. “I don’t see any upside for her.” The Brazilian fighter went further, saying, “I think she complains too much. She complains about the public. She complains about everything.”

For Dumont, Rousey’s mindset seems clear. “I don’t think she really has a desire to go back into the octagon,” she concluded.

Dumont believes Rousey would struggle in today’s UFC

Rousey has not fought in almost a decade. Meanwhile, Dumont remains active and sharp. Just days ago, she stepped into the octagon and secured another win. Ranked number three among UFC bantamweights, she recently defeated Ketlen Viera, who now sits at number four.

That hard-fought victory at UFC Fight Night on November 1st extended Dumont’s winning streak to six bouts. Her professional record now stands at 13 wins and 2 losses. The fight ended in a split decision, highlighting Dumont’s resilience and skill.

A potential matchup with Rousey? Dumont doesn’t hold back

When asked how a fight between her and Rousey would play out, Dumont smiled. “That would be an awesome fight,” she said. “I don’t think she’d be able to get near me. I think she’d get beat up a lot.”

For Dumont, such a matchup would be more than personal pride. “It would be a great opportunity for me,” she admitted.

The comments underline a growing sentiment among fighters that Rousey’s time may have passed. Dumont’s words capture what many in MMA quietly believe: the sport has evolved, and a Rousey comeback may not end the way fans imagine.
