Fury Insists Retirement Is Final

Tyson Fury declared he is serious about retiring and sees no reason to fight again, even for £1 billion. The 37-year-old boxer announced his retirement in January after losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time.

Fury has hinted at a comeback, as he did after his 2022 retirement, while his promoter Frank Warren recently claimed Fury hopes to fight next year. However, Fury told FurociTV that he feels no motivation to return to the ring after decades of punishment.

Fury Rejects Fame, Money, and Titles

Fury said he once fought for money and championships but no longer finds joy in either. He explained that wealth and titles no longer increase his happiness. He admitted the pursuit of success felt more thrilling than the victory itself, saying the climb always outshines the summit.

He added that he could fight again anytime but chooses not to. Fury said he has no desire for attention, fame, or more punches. He insisted that even £1 billion would not convince him to return because he no longer cares about public opinion.

Comeback Talk Persists Despite Fury’s Words

In July, Fury announced an April 2026 trilogy bout with Usyk after Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh claimed Fury planned a comeback. Earlier this month, Warren told DAZN that Fury wants to fight next year and plans to meet to discuss it.

Fury also remains linked to a potential “Battle of Britain” with longtime rival Anthony Joshua, a fight both men still hope to stage before permanently retiring from the sport.
