Karim Henniene embraces the moment and envisions a clear path to the PFL Africa finals this weekend. He will face Boule Godogo at PFL Africa 3 on October 18th in a highly anticipated semi-final bout. Henniene recently spoke to MMA Canada about the matchup, analyzing both his own skills and Godogo’s, noting that both fighters earned victories on the previous PFL Africa card in July. Both athletes won via split decision, and Henniene explained the similarities in their backgrounds and why he believes he holds the advantage.
A clash of similar backgrounds
Henniene highlighted the parallel journeys he shares with Godogo. “He has the same background as me, in judo. After judo, he moved to boxing just like I did. So, our paths are similar, but unfortunately for him, I’m better in every area. I’m a stronger grappler and a more effective striker overall,” Henniene said. He stressed that his experience and versatility will give him a clear edge in the fight.
Taking risks for a finish
Reflecting on his previous narrow victories, Henniene explained his mindset heading into this bout. “This fight will be fire against fire, a huge explosion. But for him, the explosion will be bigger from my side. This matchup will be unmatched, and it will be my best performance so far. I can guarantee a finish,” he stated.
He admitted that critics often noted his reluctance to finish opponents. “I know how to win a fight, but sometimes I don’t take enough risks. This time, I’m going all in. I’m aiming for the finish, and the audience will witness a huge ending,” Henniene added.
Karim Henniene enters PFL Africa 3 confident and determined. He promises an explosive performance that could secure his spot in the finals and cement his reputation in the league.
