Canelo Alvarez’s clash with Terence Crawford became a historic success for Netflix. The undisputed title fight attracted over 41 million global viewers, making it the most-watched men’s championship bout this century. Netflix highlighted the achievement on X, confirming the fight’s massive worldwide appeal.

Unprecedented Streaming Numbers

Reuters reported that Crawford vs. Canelo reached more than 24 million concurrent streams at its peak. The fight topped Netflix charts in 30 countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Philippines, Australia, and Argentina. Fans around the globe tuned in simultaneously, underscoring the fight’s international significance. The event showcased Netflix’s growing influence in delivering live sports to millions of viewers worldwide.

Record-Breaking Gate Revenue

UFC CEO Dana White, who co-promoted the event with Turki Alalshikh in Las Vegas, revealed Allegiant Stadium generated $47.23 million in gate revenue. This ranks as the third-highest gate in boxing history, behind Floyd Mayweather’s $72 million fight with Manny Pacquiao and his $55 million bout against Conor McGregor. The earnings reflect the enormous interest in Crawford vs. Canelo among live audiences and streaming fans alike.

Crawford Triumphs

Crawford claimed the undisputed super middleweight world championship with a unanimous decision over Canelo. He improved his professional record to 42-0 with 31 knockouts. Canelo’s record fell to 63-3 with 39 knockouts, having previously lost only to Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol. Analysts praised Crawford’s tactical precision and control, highlighting his dominance throughout the fight.

Streaming Milestone in Context

Although 41 million viewers is remarkable, it falls short of November’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, which drew 108 million global viewers on Netflix. Still, Crawford vs. Canelo confirmed Netflix’s growing role as a key platform for major boxing events and set a new standard for streaming championship fights.
