During his UFC career, Khabib Nurmagomedov declined a major offer to fight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
Khabib retired nearly five years ago after defeating Justin Gaethje and became a top coach for Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov.
He continues to receive offers to return to combat sports but consistently turns them down.
During his UFC career, Khabib was offered a fight against Mayweather but refused due to no wrestling allowed.
Head coach Javier Mendez revealed Khabib considered the match but rejected it because it would be boxing only.
Mayweather later fought Khabib’s rival Conor McGregor in 2017 in one of boxing’s biggest events.
Khabib’s striking was criticized throughout his career, but his wrestling dominance remained unmatched.
Joe Rogan recently argued Khabib should have retired with a 29-1 record, questioning his 2012 fight with Gleison Tibau.
Rogan claimed Tibau was unlucky not to win, calling the match “very close.”
Khabib remains one of the few UFC fighters to retire undefeated, cementing his GOAT status.
